TP-Link Portable Routers
My portable mini router toys use for different occasions, don't leave home without it !
Depending on needs, I'll bring along either one of these whenever I go travel
Except for the WR710N (2MB flash ram), the MR3020 & MR703N are supported by both OpenWRT & DD-WRT:
- MR3020v1 : OpenWRT (trunk) / DD-WRT (current latest r19342)
- WR703v1 : OpenWRT (trunk) / DD-WRT (current latest r19342)
I personally prefer either the TL-MR3020 & TL-MR703N, won't leave home without it !
TL-WR710N Ver1 : Stock firmware (Chinese only)
Suitable to share out hotel room's broadband, or use it with China & HongKong ISP's broadband USB dongle
TL-MR3020 Ver1 : Stock firmware
The stock firmware and switch at the router's side offer 3 different mode of operation: 3G, WAN & AP.
Nice, can easily share out hotel room's broadband or simply insert broadband USB dongle !
TL-WR703N Ver1
I bought 2 units of this in ShenZhen around end May'2012 for both OpenWRT & DD-WRT testing.
TL-WR703N Ver1 : OpenWRT
Flash to OpenWRT, complete with ExtRoot+Samba+FTP+Transmission, all on a 16GB Kingston USB driver without problem
So far, this is one of my smallest Transmission download device !
TL-WR703N Ver1 : DD-WRT
Flashed to DD-WRT, use it for my Maxis broadband on Huawei E173 USB dongle, connect and share without any problem !
Now I always bring along this small little broadband sharing device on-the-go !
Setup pretty straight forward, just select the standard option as below will do.
